Bachelor’s Degree in Textile Innovation

The Bachelor in Textile Innovation (ITEX) at ISMOD is a qualification registered with the RNCP, Level 6, designed to train hybrid profiles capable of navigating between pure creative work and the technical constraints of the industry, combining traditional craftsmanship with advanced technologies.

This programme is perfectly aligned with the needs of managers in fashion organisations, who are seeking creative, passionate, curious and motivated collaborators.

The ISMOD Bachelor ITEX enables students to be fully operational from their first professional experience or to pursue further studies at Bac+4/5 level. Courses, conferences, masterclasses and Business Games are delivered by professionals who are experts in their respective fields.

FURTHER STUDIES

This Bachelor’s degree is professionally oriented and therefore leads directly to employment. You also have the opportunity to enrol in the first year of a Master’s degree programme.

Prerequisites

ENTRY LEVEL(S)

Baccalaureate and Bac+2

Prerequisites: The Bachelor’s Degree in Textile Innovation at ISMOD is open to holders of a baccalaureate qualification and, for entry into the third year, to holders of a BTS or any other Level 5 qualification.

Admission is based on the review of the application file and may include an interview.

Programme objectives

The Bachelor in Textile Innovation (ITEX) at ISMOD is a state-recognised Level 6 qualification aimed at achieving the following objectives:

  • Learn to identify and use fibres (natural, synthetic, artificial)
  • Master various textile manufacturing techniques (weaving, knitting, non-woven fabrics) and finishing processes (dyeing, printing, treatments)
  • Integrate electronic components or reactive properties (e.g., colour-changing with heat, health sensors)
  • Learn to recycle fibres and reduce production waste
  • Explore sustainable alternatives such as mushroom, algae or fruit fibres
  • Measure the environmental impact of a product, from fibre to finished garment
  • Use software such as CLO 3D or Marvelous Designer to prototype digitally and avoid waste from physical prototypes
  • Experiment with new textile structures that cannot be created using traditional looms
  • Anticipate trends and consumer needs
  • Know how to highlight the technical properties of innovative textiles to clients or industrial partners
  • Learn to manage a global and ethical supply chain

Teaching Methods and Assessment

Assessment Methods: Case studies and/or tests and/or essays and/or text analyses and/or multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and/or oral assessments and/or research projects / Continuous assessment / Work-study and competency evaluation (written + oral) / Thesis defence / Professional evaluation in the company

Duration of Studies:

DURATION OF STUDIES:

  • 3 years for students holding a Baccalaureate or an equivalent qualification
  • Work-study programme available from the third year onwards
This programme does not offer any equivalences or transfer pathways.

Students entering the first year of the Master’s programme are required to validate all skills blocks

Admission Procedures and Deadlines

Access deadlines

  • Applications for the September 2026 intake are open from 1 March to 20 September 2026.
  • Applications for the deferred January 2027 intake remain open until 18 December 2026.

Modalities

Access to our programmes may be initiated:

  • By the employer,
  • At the employee’s initiative, with their employer’s agreement,
  • By a student or their legal guardian
  • Work-study is available from the third year onwards

Upon completion of the application form, our institution undertakes to respond within 72 hours.

If the programme requires specific prerequisites, we will propose, regardless of the funding method you are considering, a knowledge assessment and/or a positioning interview (by telephone or videoconference) and/or a review of your application file.

1ST AND 2ND YEAR

The ITEX programme in the 1st and 2nd year, aimed at developing managerial skills, is structured as follows:

3RD YEAR

The ITEX programme in the specialisation year is organised into two (2) axes:

AXIS 1: SPECIALISATION SUBJECTS

  • Client Needs Investigation and Reformulation

  • E-Textiles and Flexible Electronics

  • Project Management and Innovation

Semester 2:

  • Intellectual Property Law

  • Computer-Aided Design (CAD)

  • Eco-Design and Circular Fashion

  • Collection Planning and Sourcing

  • Internship (Mandatory)

AXIS 2: CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Validation of competency blocks:

  • Block 1: Coordinate and improve the commercial activity of the retail establishment

  • Block 2: Contribute to the strategic direction of the brand and optimise the economic performance of the retail establishment

  • Block 3: Manage the employees of the retail establishment
